Weekend in Vancouver!

Our main goal this weekend was to make it up to Mt. Seymour as we'd heard there's a great tubing park near the ski hill...



Unfortunately, it was raining in Vancouver yesterday, and as we tried to drive up the mountain to see what it was like up there, we were told there was an accident on the road due to snow.








So we had a lovely lunch in Deep Cove, a picturous suburb of North Vancouver, went shopping at MEC, stopped in Stanley Park for a picture, then picked up my little brother for an evening playing games.

Rain again today but that didn't stop us!

And then after a fab afternoon on the hill, we all piled back into the car only to be told that a bus had gone into the ditch so it would take an hour to re-open the road. Nothing tastes better than hot dogs and hot chocolate while waiting for the road to clear! And Pete is a surprisingly good driver in blinding gales of snow for a Brit!

Ahhhh, winter wonderland... and nice that its a 20 min journey away so its there when we want it!

Today was another grey and rainy day in Vancouver but my friend Mike (visiting from the Uk) and I trucked up to Trout Lake with Rian and Nova, seen here with a new friend in an intense battle of wills...

Development of the Day: Rian has learned to drink from a straw!! Yea! Sippy cups were a bit of a disaster and bottles he doesn't really understand but STRAWS he can totally work out!

Wow, it's been some time since I've posted! A whole week or so!

And Rian is still very much a cutie who has mastered skooching backwards and can cruise along furniture. He's a happy fella and loves smiling at strangers which is adorable!




We went to visit his mate Eliane (Caroline and Jean's gorgeous daughter), a few months younger than Rian and now sitting on her own!



And my good friend Mike is visiting from the UK and we're doing our best to intice him to move here... watch this space...






But Mike and Pete need to practice if they want to ever beat my little bro' Kyle at Halo 2!

More, more, more Christmas! Like you all haven't seen enough of Rian and all his new goodies...



Gifts arrived via my little 'bro Kyle from my father, stepmother and lil' sister Kelty so Christmas just seems to keep coming!









And we think Rian will start crawling soon... not that we are remotely ready for it, aside from moving the Drano to a high shelf in the basement. At least he still likes to be carried in the sling









Finally, not to try to use Rian's good friend Sam as a free model for my blog (any royalties from this pic should be directed to his Mom's blog), here are the boys at the local juice shop. Just look at Sam - Rian does seem to be the straight guy to Sam's cheekiness!



And what is friendship if they can't share tasty toys?!
